Coming Back to My Morning Routine
It’s been a while, my morning. Over a year to be exact.
I had a baby, and the chaos of raising three boys became my excuse to hit snooze.
But lately, my body has been calling me back. Waking me up at 5:30 AM with bad dreams, night sweats, stiffness, muscle loss and breakouts. The anxiety, stress, and irritability piled on. And now that the baby sleeps through the night, there’s nothing standing in the way but me.
This morning, I showed up.
I turned on a beautiful boho meditation ([insert link here]) that repeated the mantra:
“My decisions today determine the outcome of tomorrow.”
And that hit me hard. If I want to feel strong again, clear-minded, and relaxed I need my morning routine back. I need to take that moment for myself before the day begins.
So, I unrolled my mat and stretched in stillness. And in that quiet, I remembered why I loved my routine so much. It gave me life. It grounded me.
If you feel stuck, sore, or just plain tired try giving yourself a routine. Not one built around anyone else’s needs or schedules, but your own. Your time. Even ten minutes.
A quiet space with no distractions
A simple meditation or breathwork practice
Gentle stretching to release the tightness you didn’t know you were holding
A moment to clear your mind, to swipe your mental slate clean like erasing a whiteboard
This isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence. It’s about remembering who you are before the day begins.
I’m here now. And I love this feeling.
